MICROBLADING

FAQ's

What is Microblading?

Microblading, a form of semi-permanent makeup, is the manual process of implanting color pigment in the superficial layers of skin by means of tiny, sterile needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes. This is a semi-permanent option lasting anywhere from 8 months to 2 years.

Do my natural brows have to be shaved or removed?

No! We aim to keep as much of your natural brow hair as possible. Microblading brow procedures work to enhance your existing brows and give you the fullest shape possible for your face shape. We ask our clients to arrive to their appointment with full untouched brows as a shape and tint are included (if desired/needed)

How long do Microblading last? How often do I need a touch up?

Microbladed eyebrows last 1 to 2 years for most clients before it usually needs a touch up. This can vary depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how you take care of them.

What should I do to prepare for my procedure?

-If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. For brow appointments, you are more than welcome to fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire. All Microblading appointments have an optional shape and tint service included with the cost, so please avoid waxing or tweezing your brows before your appointment. Our brow specialists like to work with the fullest brow possible to achieve the desired results.

-If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended that you schedule your second (touch up) appointment a minimum of 14 days prior to departure to allow for proper healing – for best results, we recommend 4 weeks of full healing before travel to hot or tropical vacations.

-We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen.

-Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. It is also highly recommended that you avoid sun and tanning bed exposure for 30 days before and after your procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.

Do I need to take a day off work? Can I go out after?

There is no downtime associated with Microblading. Redness and swelling (if any) will dissipate within 1 to 3 hours after your appointment has finished. Your brows will appear darker and scabby initially (especially the next day and for a few days following), but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities. You can absolutely go out after your appointment!

Can I wear makeup while my brows are healing?

Yes, you can absolutely wear your regular face of makeup, however avoid getting any liquid or powder makeup on or around the procedure (brow) area during the initial healing period of 7 to 10 days, as it will cause discoloration of the pigment.

Can I have Microblading done if I'm pregnant or nursing?

As a precaution, we do not perform Microblading or Micropigmentation on pregnant or nursing women.

What health conditions would prevent me from getting Microblading?

-If you are pregnant or nursing

-Are sick or unwell
-Are under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs
-Have taken any pain medication within 24 hours prior to the procedure

Does it hurt?

There can be some discomfort associated with Microblading. We apply a topical numbing cream which typically takes 10 to 20 minutes to activate. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person, but most clients tell us the discomfort level is 0 to 3 out of 10. We make every effort to ensure our clients remain comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Please let us know if you have any allergies to Lidocaine or Epinephrine prior to your appointment.
