SUGARING

FAQ's

What is Sugaring?

Sugaring removes hair in the natural direction of growth, which is the opposite of waxing (which removes hair against the natural direction of growth).  Removing hair in the natural direction of growth can also help to prevent ingrown hair.  In addition, the sugaring process does not involve sticks or strips, so there’s no need to worry about the possibility of “double dipping.” Each ball of sugar paste is only used for one client and is discarded after a single use.  Lastly, sugar warmers only heat sugar paste to a lukewarm temperature (at maximum heat), unlike wax which is often heated to higher temperatures and poses the risk of a burn. Sugar paste is made from just 3 ingredients (sugar, lemon juice and water)

Before Your Sugaring Appointment

- Exfoliate the areas being sugared gently before your appointment.

- Your skin should be clean and dry. Please avoid using any powders, sprays, or lotions prior to your bikini sugaring treatment.

- Please do not wear any deodorant, oil, lotions, or any other skincare products on the areas you intend to have sugared.

- We cannot wax or sugar hair from sunburned skin.

- Please refrain from wearing tight clothing around the areas that have been waxed or sugared.

Can you sugar everywhere?

Just about. Everywhere except the scalp, beard, inner ears and nostrils.

Can my hair be too long to sugar?

Let us take care of you. It's what we do! If you're lacking landscaping, don't worry! We have trimmers, sugar paste, and trained professionals prepared for every service.

How long does my hair need to be to get sugared?

For best results we recommend that hair is at least 1/8” long.  This would be about 14 days since your last shave or 1 month since your last sugaring or waxing session.

Does sugaring hurt?

Honestly, it depends on the person. The first time is the hardest, and it only gets easier from there. On repeated visits within 4-6 weeks, the hair follicles will be smaller, and the bulbs will be weaker, so they'll come out smoother each time

I'm on my period. Can I still come in?

Yes! Make sure to use a tampon or diva cup, so the sugaring technician can perform the service. Keep in mind, that some guests find they experience more discomfort during menstruation and some people don't, so the choice is truly yours.

Is sugaring environmentally friendly?

Yes! The sugar paste is a biodegradable paste, and the sugaring process doesn’t require application sticks or strips.

Can I get sugared right before I get an airbrush tan?

Absolutely. We recommend it. The exfoliation and lack of shaving (especially if you get your legs or arms sugared) will help a spray tan last longer.
