LIP BLUSHING
FAQ's
What is Lip Blushing?
Lip Blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo intended to give the lips a natural flushed or “blush” look. It can also be used to correct lips that are cool-toned in color.
Who cannot get Lip Blush done?
If you have darker or more pigmented lips you may not be a candidate for the procedure due to a risk of hyperpigmentation (further darkening of the lips).
How long does Lip Blush last? Will I need a touch up?
Lip Blush will last up to 3 years after the initial touch up appointment. The Initial Touch Up is required 8-weeks after the initial appointment. We will assess the healed color at this time to make any adjustments and re-saturate the color as needed. If you are requesting a bolder or brighter lip blush shade an additional Touch Up session may be required.
Does it hurt?
Before we begin the procedure, we will apply a topical anesthetic. Due to the sensitive nature of the lips minor discomfort may be felt during the procedure. Additional numbing can be applied as needed.
Can I get Lip Blush if I have lip injections?
Yes! It’s important to note that lip blush is not intended to reshape the natural lip, we cannot go outside of the natural lip line. Lip fillers should be done prior to your lip blush appointment with a minimum of 4-weeks healing time.
What will my lips look like after the procedure?
The lips will look bolder in color than the desired shade and will likely be a bit swollen. As the lips heal, they will soften in color and swelling will subside within 48-hours.
Will I be able to eat and/or drink after?
You can eat and drink as normal after the procedure except for spicy foods. Spicy food should be avoided for a minimum of 1-week to avoid irritation to the lips during the healing period.
